The Goldstone recommendations on Israel/Palestine have been adopted by the European Parliament today on March 10 2009. The resolution was adopted with 335 votes in favour, 287 against and 43 abstentions and the following recommendations were agreed on:

1. All parties should respect human rights
2. Independent and impartial investigations within the next five months should take place within the next five months
3. The Goldstone recommendations should be implemented and monitored
4. There should be no restriction of NGO activities and the authorities should stop refraining their activities

In an almost unprecedented event 54 US Congressmen have written a joint letter to President Obama urging him to press for "immediate relief for the citizens of Gaza" by bringing about an end to the blockade. MEMO is pleased to publish the full text of this letter signed by all 54 Congressmen.

Washington's efforts to ease the siege on Gaza are "not serious"A Palestinian MP has said that if the US administration was "genuinely interested" in helping to ease the suffering of his people, it could do so. Instead, claims Jamal Al-Khadry, who is also the President of the Popular Committee Against the Siege in Gaza, recent calls by Washington were to be seen in the context of helping Israel to face UN accusations that it committed war crimes in Gaza a year ago. The Americans, he believes, "are not serious" about ending the Israeli-led siege on Gaza.

Israel Continues To Spy on Its Biggest Ally, Another Israeli Spy Arrested by FBI

Stewart David NozetteThe scientist, Stewart David Nozette, 52, from Chevy Chase - Maryland, USA. He was approached by an FBI agent pretending to be an Israeli Intelligence officer.

He is facing charges of attempting to communicate, transfer and deliver classified information.

Stewart will be making his initial court appearance at a Federat court in Washington DC on Tuesday.

He held several important jobs in NASA, the National Space Council, and developed the Clementine bi-static radar experiment, and is accredited for discovering water on the south pole of the moon, the Huffington Post reported.

The Post added that he also worked at the Energy Department’s Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory where he managed to design advanced technology in the years between 1990 and 1999.

The case is one of many cases in which Israel was busted trying to spy on its biggest ally and supporter in the planet, the United States of America.

Falk calls for economic sanctions on Israel to force an end to Gaza blockade The United Nations Special Human Rights Rapporteur in the Occupied Palestinian Territories, Richard Falk, yesterday stressed the need to urgently and wholly implement the findings of the Goldstone report commissioned by the Human Rights Council.

In a statement issued in New York Falk days before the first anniversary of the Israeli onslaught on Gaza, Falk said Israel’s allies in Europe and North America must insist on an end to the illegal siege imposed on the Gaza Strip. He called on western governments to use the threat of economic sanctions to force an end to the blockade.
