European Parliamentarians visit the Besieged Gaza Strip one year on


EU Delegation Visit GazaFifty European MP’s visited the besieged Gaza Strip this weekend to assess for themselves the aftermath of Israel’s offensive a year ago, which left over 1400 Palestinians dead, most of them women and children. The recent European delegation was organised by the European Campaign to End the Siege on Gaza (ECESG) and was headed by Sir Gerald Kaufman, a veteran British MP and included parliamentarians representing twelve European countries. Other British representatives included Lord Ahmed, Jeremy Corbyn, Baroness Tonge and Clare Short. The EU delegation visited make shift refugee camps and ravaged areas north of the Gaza Strip, interviewing Palestinians, including children who were left devastated by the Israeli invasion.
