On Wednesday, children marched in the streets of Gaza to draw attention to their internationally recognised rights which are being violated with the on-going siege. They demanded recognition of their right to education, to live without fear for their lives and to have a decent standard of living enjoyed by children elsewhere.

A large number of Palestinian children in Gaza drop out of school due to hardships brought on by the five year blockade of the territory. Many have been forced to enter the job market in factories because of the high cost of living and loss of family members, who have been the main breadwinners.
