Israeli occupation releases Gazan after serving 22-year prison sentence

The Israeli occupation authorities released, on Sunday, Nov. 15, one of its longest serving prisoners, Younis Hussein, 45 years, from the Gaza Strip, after serving a 22-years sentence.

Hundreds of citizens and relatives of Hussein were waiting for him at Beit Hanoun "Erez Crossing" in the northern part of the Gaza Strip, where the Israeli authorities released him. He was then escorted in a mass rally to his house in the central Gaza Strip at the Zawaida district.

Hussein was arrested by the occupation authorities when he was single on December 31, 1987, three weeks after the first intifada eruption, on charges of belonging to "Fatah" Movement and resisting the occupation when he got a 22-year jail sentence which he fully served.
