Protester shot in groin by Israeli sniper fire

Protester shot in groin by Israeli sniper fire.Israeli snipers hit a Palestinian youth with live fire in the groin on Friday, during the weekly anti-wall protest hosted by the village of Ni'lin's Popular Committee.

Medics said the youth was hit with what looked like a .22 sniper bullet. He was hit in the right groin and was being treated with a blood transfusion on-site, Ma'an's reporters said from the scene. Eyewitnesses said the man lost large amounts of blood. He was transferred to the Ramallah Government Hospital following the transfusion.

The injured Palestinian was identified as Hassan, 20, though locals declined to give out the youth's last name, for hear he would be targeted by soldiers who regularly invade the village following protests. Hassan is from Ni'lin, a village subjected to weekly night raids targeting youth and organizers of the anti-wall protests.

About 150 protesters, Palestinian, Israeli and international, participated in the protest. Israeli forces met the demonstrators with life fire and tear-gas canisters.
