Haniyeh calls for dialogue between Hamas and Islamic JihadThe Palestinian Prime Minister in Gaza has called for the start of in-depth dialogue between Hamas and the Islamic Jihad Movement. Ismail Haniyeh said that this would be "for the sake of achieving full unity between the two groups".

Prime Minister Haniyeh's statement came during a meeting in Gaza with the leadership of Islamic Jihad on Tuesday. The agenda included the latest political developments, a briefing about Mr. Haniyeh's regional tour, the national reconciliation process, the repercussions of the Arab Spring, and bilateral relations between Hamas and Islamic Jihad.
