OIC head condemns attacks by Jews against Christians in Jerusalem

OIC head condemns attacks by Jews against Christians in JerusalemThe Secretary-General of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation, Ekmeleddin Ihsanoglu, has condemned the attacks by Jewish extremists on a Baptist church in the city of Jerusalem. Offensive graffiti was scrawled on the church wall, including profanities about Prophet Jesus, peace be upon him, and his mother Mary. Property belonging to the church was also vandalised during the attack last Monday.

In a press statement, Mr. Ihsanoglu held Israel fully responsible for this "shameful act" which, he said, "is going to be added to the long list of attacks by extremist Israeli settlers on Christian and Muslim property and holy sites."

He called on the international community to protect holy sites and places of worship in Jerusalem, compel Israel to stop its violations against non-Jews, and force the Zionist state to abide by international law.
